The Leadership Fayette Class of 2025 is proud to introduce a new initiative designed to develop the next generation of civic-minded leaders.

In preparation for this initiative, the Class of 2025 conducted a comprehensive SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis of Fayette County. Among the county’s strengths, they identified long-term residents, a high youth population, strong community pride, and a thriving base of small businesses. Noted weaknesses included a lack of employment opportunities, challenges in retaining residents, and limited programs addressing key social issues such as substance abuse and incarceration. Growth opportunities included attracting new businesses, expanding healthcare, and leveraging the county’s strong faith-based culture. However, potential threats such as inflation, housing affordability, and resistance to change were also recognized.

As part of their legacy, the Class of 2025 will serve as title sponsors for the Class of 2026, with the goal of sponsoring the Class of 2027, offering WestTeach Scholarships, and promoting the Leadership Fayette program at the Fayette Cotton Festival. During the festival, they will operate a booth, distribute school supplies, and give away 100 backpacks containing information about student mentorship opportunities and sign-up options for future Leadership Fayette participants.

The Leadership Fayette Class of 2025 is laying the foundation for a stronger, more engaged Fayette County—one student leader at a time.
